DESCRIPTION:Bigger and better than ever! \nAsian Food Fest announces 2024 entertainment lineup \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCincinnati\, OH (March 28\, 2024) —The Cincinnati Regional Chamber\, together with Asianati\, is excited to announce the entertainment lineup for the 13th annual Asian Food Fest (AFF)\, presented by Kroger and P&G. This festival gives visitors an entire weekend to experience Asian culture not only through cuisine but also through dance\, music and other special performances and contests. Check this link for a list of entertainers and an up-to-date performance schedule.   \n  \nAsian Food Fest features an expanded footprint in Downtown Cincinnati on Saturday\, April 27 (11 a.m. until 10 p.m.) and Sunday\, April 28 (11 a.m. until 8 p.m.) on Court Street between Elm and Main Streets. A complete list of vendors is located here. Admission to the festival is free.   \n  \nThis year’s entertainment will feature the largest lineup yet with 19 different performances\, including 13 local and regional DJs from a variety of Asian ethnicities\, five first-time performers and six local groups that have previously performed at the Asian Food Festival. The types of entertainment include performances from cultures across Asia\, rock bands\, traditional dances\, Taiko drummers\, University of Cincinnati student groups and the Cincinnati Opera.   \n  \n“We continue to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of Asia by providing festival visitors with even more entertainment from across the continent. We’re excited to celebrate all that Asia has to offer over two days and do it in the heart of Cincinnati with the surrounding community participating in enjoying our food\, singing and dancing! We hope that the festival helps educate those curious to learn and experience all things Asia\,” said Entertainment Lead for Asian Food Fest\, Vikas Sondhi.  \n  \nAdditionally\, the 2024 karaoke contest will occur over two days instead of one. The Eastern Eats and Vocal Beats Karaoke Contest with DJ Hi David will include 25 participants taking the stage on Saturday from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.\, followed by a Top 10 final round on Sunday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Details on how to participate will be released soon on the AFF website.   \n  \nOther featured entertainment includes a Bhangra X Bollywood Block Barty with DJ Vikas\, DJ Das and DJ Mowgli\, the first-ever K-Pop vs J-Pop DJ dance-off on the main stage and opportunities for visitors to learn cultural dances like the Filipino Tinkling\, the national dance of the Philippines.   \n  \n“This year’s Asian Food Festival entertainment programming will create an exciting atmosphere for visitors that will make them want to spend the weekend celebrating Asian cultures right here in Southwest Ohio. DESCRIPTION:Click here to register for NAMI Family Support Group. RSVP is not required to attend.\nACA\, in its mission to connect the community to resources\, will be inviting NAMI to offer support group sessions to the Asian community. The NAMI Family Support Group is for family members\, caregivers and loved ones of individuals with mental health challenges will be held at the ACA office premises at 7566 Central Park Blvd\, Suite 222\, Mason 45040. This will be facilitated by a NAMI trained facilitator and will follow the NAMI model. It is a peer-led support group\, is a confidential and safe space to share your experiences\, coping skills and learnings as caregivers\, family members\, friends and loved ones of individuals with mental health challenges such as anxiety\, depression\, behavioral disorders\, mood\, sleep\, personality disorders to name a few. This is offered at no cost to participants. \n\n\n\nBy sharing your experiences in a safe and confidential setting\, you gain hope and develop supportive relationships. This group allows your voice to be heard\, and provides an opportunity for your personal needs to be met. It encourages empathy\, productive discussion and a sense of community. You’ll benefit through other’s experiences\, discover your inner strength and learn how to identify local resources and how to use them. You may choose to share or just listen if you are not comfortable sharing. \n\n\n\n\nNAMI Family Support Group will help you: \n· See the individual first\, not the illness\n· Recognize that mental illnesses are medical illnesses that may have environmental triggers · Understand that mental illnesses are traumatic events\n· Aim for better coping skills\n· Find strength in sharing experiences\n· Reject stigma and not tolerate discrimination\n· Not judge anyone’s pain\n· Forgive ourselves and reject guilt\n· Embrace humor as healthy\n· Accept that we cannot solve every problem\n· Work for a better future in a realistic way\n· Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances.
