DESCRIPTION:The League of Women Voters Presentation-  Desirae Futel of the LWVCA will be the moderator.  Catherine Turcer of Common Cause will explain the purpose and value of the amendment are about 30 minutes\, with another 15 for Q&A.  We will then have registration forms and absentee ballot applications with League members helping audience members fill them out correctly. \nWe are in the Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church sanctuary\, so people will sit in pews\, and see the speakers from all locations.  There will be 2 stationary mics – one for Desirae and one for Catherine.  We will also have a roving mic for people to use as they ask questions\, so all can hear. \nThe church has about 8 earphones that people with hearing problems can use to increase the volume right at their ears.

DESCRIPTION:2018 GCCS Chinese New Year Gala will be held at Sycamore High School on Feb. 11 from 3pm to 9pm.  At this year’s event you will see dancing\, singing\, magic show\, and martial arts performance on stage.  Chinese cultural displays\, traditional Chinese dinner\, and door prize drawing are the must haves for our annual event.  Kids will receive red packets and enjoy the carnival games. \nWe are looking forward to celebrating this exciting annual event with your family and friends. This year’s gala will be different in terms of format and content. We will showcase a diverse program offered by talented artists from our school and the larger community; we will set up more dynamic cultural booths with richer content; we will offer more exciting kids’ programs; and we will provide a memorable dinner! \nFor many years including this year\, the tickets to join the Chinese New Year gala can only cover a very small portion of the costs. We are offering the opportunity to purchase donation tickets ($20 per person) and make additional voluntary donations for the 2018 Chinese New Year gala. Ticketing information is as follows: \n\nAdult: $15 per person\, $12 per person for early bird\nChild (12 and under): $10 per person\, $8 per person for early bird\nGCCS students and performers: $10 per adult\, $8 per child (12 and under)\nDonation tickets: $20 per person\n\nIf you make additional donations or purchase donation tickets with a value exceeding $50\, your name will be acknowledged on our program.\nThis year’s event ticket is available to purchase online.  If you would like to reserve the ticket\, please click here.  The purchased or reserved tickets could be picked up at GCCS front desk or on the day of the event. \nThank you for your support!

RSVP is not required to attend.\nACA\, in its mission to connect the community to resources\, will be inviting NAMI to offer support group sessions to the Asian community. The NAMI Family Support Group is for family members\, caregivers and loved ones of individuals with mental health challenges will be held at the ACA office premises at 7566 Central Park Blvd\, Mason 45040. This will be facilitated by a NAMI trained facilitator and will follow the NAMI model. It is a peer-led support group\, is a confidential and safe space to share your experiences\, coping skills and learnings as caregivers\, family members\, friends and loved ones of individuals with mental health challenges such as anxiety\, depression\, behavioral disorders\, mood\, sleep\, personality disorders to name a few. This is offered at no cost to participants. \n\n\n\nBy sharing your experiences in a safe and confidential setting\, you gain hope and develop supportive relationships. This group allows your voice to be heard\, and provides an opportunity for your personal needs to be met. It encourages empathy\, productive discussion and a sense of community. You’ll benefit through other’s experiences\, discover your inner strength and learn now to identify local resources and how to use them. You many choose to share or just listen if you are not comfortable sharing. \n\n\n\n\nNAMI Family Support Group will help you: \n· See the individual first\, not the illness\n· Recognize that mental illnesses are medical illnesses that may have environmental triggers · Understand that mental illnesses are traumatic events\n· Aim for better coping skills\n· Find strength in sharing experiences\n· Reject stigma and not tolerate discrimination\n· Not judge anyone’s pain\n· Forgive ourselves and reject guilt\n· Embrace humor as healthy\n· Accept that we cannot solve every problem\n· Work for a better future in a realistic way\n· Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances.

DESCRIPTION:Click here to learn more and buy tickets.\nThe Indian film festival of Cincinnati is  the only Indian Film Festival in Cincinnati and Ohio. The festival is organized and hosted by the India Cincinnati Sister cities in collaboration with the Art Museum. We screen premieres of feature\, documentary and short films made in and about the Indian subcontinent or it’s people or made by Indians. The festival will have three days of screenings and post-screening discussions and award ceremonies.In 2018 our Festival will support films from South Asia such as Afghanistan\, Bangladesh\, Bhutan\, India\, Iran\, Maldives\, Nepal\, Pakistan\, Sri Lanka and Tibet.  All of our films are spoken or subtitled in English.

DESCRIPTION:Email info@asiancommunityalliance.org to RSVP\nCincinnati​ ​Dayton​ ​Taiko​ ​(CDT)​ ​is​ ​a​ ​non-profit​ ​organization​ ​dedicated​ ​to​ ​promoting Japanese​ ​style​ ​taiko​ ​drumming​ ​through​ ​performance​ ​and​ ​education.​ ​ ​Our performances​ ​are​ ​based​ ​on​ ​a​ ​traditional​ ​foundation​ ​but​ ​emphasize​ ​the​ ​fun​ ​and community​ ​spirit​ ​of​ ​taiko.​ ​ ​Taiko​ ​drums​ ​are​ ​large​ ​drums​ ​played​ ​in​ ​an​ ​ensemble format​ ​which​ ​allows​ ​for​ ​thundering​ ​sounds​ ​and​ ​exciting​ ​rhythms.​ ​ ​We​ ​also​ ​use​ ​a wide​ ​variety​ ​of​ ​world​ ​percussion​ ​instruments​ ​including​ ​shekere\,​ ​small​ ​cymbals​ ​and a​ ​large​ ​gong.
