DESCRIPTION:The Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati – ‘Engage Diversity Through Film” announces the 3rd Annual Film Festival Sept 5 – Sept 10\, 2018.\nThe Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati (IFFC) announces their third year of celebrating independent\, diaspora films from/about/connected to the Indian subcontinent. This prestigious film festival is the only Indian Film festival in Ohio. The festival is organized by the India Cincinnati Sister City and will showcase 10 award winning Feature Films and 20 short films and host a red carpet gala! \nThe opening film will be screened at the Main Street Theater\, University of Cincinnati on Sept 7. Event starts at 6PM\, Film starts at 7PM. followed by a gala at 9PM at the Tangeman Main Hall at the University of Cincinnati. \n34 films have been selected from the 467 submissions received this year and will be screened at the Freedom Center\,  Esquire theatre\, Mariemont Theatre\, Kenwood Theatre\, Cincinnati Art Museum and the Main Street Theater. After parties will be held at Ludlow area restaurants and at the quarter Bistro in Mariemont. The festival will include industry panels on Thursday and Friday 9:30-12PM at the Main Street Theater\, University of Cincinnati.  All films are subtitled in English. The festival’s film lineup include premiers of several international award winning films. We are thrilled to be able to share these films with the Cincinnati audience.   Many of the films are made in the US. The films will cover a range of important issues such as transgender\, LGBTQ\, immigration\, racism\, elderly children and parent relationships\, young sibling relationships\, etc. \nview a pdf schedule of the events \n​Individual tickets can be purchased on the Festival site\, at the respective movie venues and their websites\, including The Cincinnati Art Museum. Tickets will go on sale August 15. DESCRIPTION:Click here to register for NAMI Family Support Group. RSVP is not required to attend.\nACA\, in its mission to connect the community to resources\, will be inviting NAMI to offer support group sessions to the Asian community. The NAMI Family Support Group is for family members\, caregivers and loved ones of individuals with mental health challenges will be held at the ACA office premises at 7566 Central Park Blvd\, Mason 45040. This will be facilitated by a NAMI trained facilitator and will follow the NAMI model. It is a peer-led support group\, is a confidential and safe space to share your experiences\, coping skills and learnings as caregivers\, family members\, friends and loved ones of individuals with mental health challenges such as anxiety\, depression\, behavioral disorders\, mood\, sleep\, personality disorders to name a few. This is offered at no cost to participants. \n\n\n\nBy sharing your experiences in a safe and confidential setting\, you gain hope and develop supportive relationships. This group allows your voice to be heard\, and provides an opportunity for your personal needs to be met. It encourages empathy\, productive discussion and a sense of community. You’ll benefit through other’s experiences\, discover your inner strength and learn how to identify local resources and how to use them. You may choose to share or just listen if you are not comfortable sharing. \n\n\n\n\nNAMI Family Support Group will help you: \n· See the individual first\, not the illness\n· Recognize that mental illnesses are medical illnesses that may have environmental triggers · Understand that mental illnesses are traumatic events\n· Aim for better coping skills\n· Find strength in sharing experiences\n· Reject stigma and not tolerate discrimination\n· Not judge anyone’s pain\n· Forgive ourselves and reject guilt\n· Embrace humor as healthy\n· Accept that we cannot solve every problem\n· Work for a better future in a realistic way\n· Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances.

SUMMARY:GCCS 2018 Chinese New Year Gala
DESCRIPTION:2018 GCCS Chinese New Year Gala will be held at Sycamore High School on Feb. 11 from 3pm to 9pm.  At this year’s event you will see dancing\, singing\, magic show\, and martial arts performance on stage.  Chinese cultural displays\, traditional Chinese dinner\, and door prize drawing are the must haves for our annual event.  Kids will receive red packets and enjoy the carnival games. \nWe are looking forward to celebrating this exciting annual event with your family and friends. This year’s gala will be different in terms of format and content. We will showcase a diverse program offered by talented artists from our school and the larger community; we will set up more dynamic cultural booths with richer content; we will offer more exciting kids’ programs; and we will provide a memorable dinner! \nFor many years including this year\, the tickets to join the Chinese New Year gala can only cover a very small portion of the costs. We are offering the opportunity to purchase donation tickets ($20 per person) and make additional voluntary donations for the 2018 Chinese New Year gala.
