The Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati – ‘Engage Diversity Through Film” announces the 3rd Annual Film Festival Sept 5 – Sept 10, 2018.

The Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati (IFFC) announces their third year of celebrating independent, diaspora films from/about/connected to the Indian subcontinent. This prestigious film festival is the only Indian Film festival in Ohio. The festival is organized by the India Cincinnati Sister City and will showcase 10 award winning Feature Films and 20 short films and host a red carpet gala!

The opening film will be screened at the Main Street Theater, University of Cincinnati on Sept 7. Event starts at 6PM, Film starts at 7PM. followed by a gala at 9PM at the Tangeman Main Hall at the University of Cincinnati.

34 films have been selected from the 467 submissions received this year and will be screened at the Freedom Center,  Esquire theatre, Mariemont Theatre, Kenwood Theatre, Cincinnati Art Museum and the Main Street Theater. After parties will be held at Ludlow area restaurants and at the quarter Bistro in Mariemont. The festival will include industry panels on Thursday and Friday 9:30-12PM at the Main Street Theater, University of Cincinnati.  All films are subtitled in English. The festival’s film lineup include premiers of several international award winning films. We are thrilled to be able to share these films with the Cincinnati audience.   Many of the films are made in the US. The films will cover a range of important issues such as transgender, LGBTQ, immigration, racism, elderly children and parent relationships, young sibling relationships, etc.

Individual tickets can be purchased on the Festival site, at the respective movie venues and their websites, including The Cincinnati Art Museum. Tickets will go on sale August 15. Gala Tickets are available at www.iffcincy.com.

We invite you to experience five fun filled days of independent cinema from the Indian and South Asian diaspora across the globe!

Our Mission: To engage diversity through Film. To bring understanding and reflection to the common human values that bind us both because of and in spite of our diversity.

Our Cause: Net proceeds of ticket sales will go towards need based scholarships for Cincinnati Public High School for the Cincinnati Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Program (India). Students learn about the culture history, diversity and economy of India through classes and travel. Students are then paired with local corporate mentors and University students as a first step towards making University education their goal.
