Collecting Calligraphy: The Arts of the Islamic World

Cincinnati Asian Art Society program is on Sunday, October 14 and will focus on the current exhibit Collecting Calligraphy: The Arts of the Islamic World.  Dr. Ainsley M. Cameron, CAM Curator of South Asian Art, Islamic Art, and Antiquities, will discuss the gorgeously colored and richly illuminated folios of poetic and historic manuscripts in the exhibit that also include pages from the Qur’an, calligraphic practice sheets and political decrees with significant gifts from JoLynn and Byron Guston, CAAS members.
