More than a year after mass shootings in California’s Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay, Asian Americans are still coping with the aftermath. The alleged gunmen in both shootings were elder members of the community, the age group most vulnerable to anti-Asian violence during the Covid-19 pandemic.
